The clocks have fallen back
Days seem reduced to mere minutes.
Light now scatters rich across the landscape -
and a creamy warmth pools in its caress.
Amber radiance pours into folds of round hills -
shimmering - gold and lush.
Vineyards now have given way the harvest - finding welcomed rest and stillness for awhile.
The air lies fragrant - with hints of smokey fermentation.
Slowly now, the circle closes towards a distant newness - and this observer's heart is filled with Thanksgiving.
