Driving along U.S. Highway 199 last January - I stumbled upon the road leading into this grove while looking for a place to photograph the fog clinging to the treetops along the Smith River. It had been snowing and raining heavily - so the dirt and gravel road was a mess and I decided to wait for better conditions.

This May afforded the opportunity - so in I went. Magnificent! This is one of the least visited and most beautiful places I have ever encountered. The road had pot holes - but I came upon a Toyoya Prius making the journey - so if you take some care, most any vehicle could navigate here. (things get very narrow and twisted - so I would not suggest an RV of any size).

The images speak for themselves.
